作品集が出版されました！

くだらないことならよくしゃべるのに
自分のことについて真面目な質問をされると
急にしどろもどろになってしまう。

言いたいことはいっぱいある。
ただ伝えたいことが多すぎて、
頭の中でまとまらないのだ。

結局いつも、話せば短くなる。

やはり僕はオートマタでしか
うまく自分を表現できないようだ。

I talk a lot about frivolous things; when someone asks me something serious, though, I become incoherent.

I have a lot I want to say. I have too much to convey－It doesn’t coalesce inside of my head.

So, eventually, when I try to speak, I end up saying something short.

It seems I can only express myself well with my automata.

原田和明（はじめにより）



日本を代表するオートマタ作家のひとり、原田和明の初のオートマタ作品集です。 オートマタとは、ヨーロッパで生まれた西洋式からくり人形のこと。
木のハンドルを回すことで動き出す想像の世界。
愛のからくり、マトリョーシカ、パンとサーカス、箸が転んでも可笑しい、テディベア、桃の声、空気の彫刻など‥‥全43作品を著者自らの言葉で解説しています。また、仕組みについてわかりやすくアイコン化したものや、著者が書き溜めてきたアイデアスケッチも収載されています。

原田和明　Harada Kazuaki

1974年 山口県生まれ。2002年よりオートマタ制作を始める。2006年よりファルマス大学大学院で現代工芸コースを専攻すると同時に、オートマタ制作の第一人者マット・スミス氏の工房でも研鑽を積む。2008年に山口県山口市に工房『二象舎』を設立、オートマタ制作やオートマタコレクション展の企画、ワークショップなどを行っている。

Born in Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1974. Started making automata in 2002. Trained in the workshop of a leading figure of automata production, Matt Smith, while studying contemporary crafts at Falmouth University from 2006. Founded the workshop “Nizosha” in Yamaguchi City in 2008, and has been making automata, planning automata exhibitions, and holding workshops since.
